So I’ve been doing the dating scene for quite some time now and I’ve noticed something… Of all the guys I’ve had first and/or second dates with, I don’t know if it’s me or what, but for some reason they seem to fall hard and fast and so when I tell them that it’s not going to work, they are completely devastated and I’ve, and I quote, “destroyed” them. I mean it’s only the first or second date! These guys expect me to feel the same way they do, but I can’t just all of a sudden love someone or fall for them that fast. I haven’t fallen for someone in a very long time. I haven’t felt the way I felt for Mitch, about anyone, since then. Will I ever feel that way again? And can you create love out of thin air? Does it only happen in the movies? Tell me a time or a relationship that happened where they fell in love within a day or a few days of knowing each other.
Okay, I’m going to admit, Mitch and I fell for each other pretty fast, but we didn’t say I love you right away. It took about more than six months for either of us to say it, but we both knew we liked each other.
I’m at the point in my life where I say if it’s meant to happen, it will happen. Marriage, children, family, etc. If they are in the cards for me it will happen. I look through dozens and dozens of online profiles on these dating sites and it always says “Looking for a relationship that will lead to marriage.” What happened to being friends first? I used to be the one to rush into everything, but now I’m like, let’s take a step back and enjoy the moment, let life take it’s course and we’re back to if it’s meant to happen, it will happen.
So, can you create love out of thin air?
Great post 🙂
