Chicken or Bread

My Mochi is a perfect little angel… or so I thought. So last night I packed my lunch for today. Salad with chicken from Gelsons. I put the chicken in a sandwich baggy so it wouldn’t make the lettuce all soggy. This morning, I put everything together, salad, dressing, chicken, and a couple Hawaiian rolls in my lunch bag ready to go for me when I walk out the door. Left it on the kitchen table next to my backpack and purse. (Mochi can get up on the kitchen table). I went to go get ready for work. When I was done, I come out and I couldn’t find Mochi. I look closer and I find her gobbling away at something under the kitchen table. I go closer and call her name and she growls back, that is her cue to me that she’s got something that she doesn’t want to give up. I see her with a sandwich bag torn up and clean as a whistle. I look on the kitchen table and find the other sandwich bag of bread left alone. I look in my lunch bag and the chicken is gone. Clever Mochi took the bread and the chicken out of my lunch bag and went for the chicken. HAHA

But fair game… I knew she could get up on the table and I left it wide open for her to get. The good thing is it was all chicken breast so no bones and she gets two breakfasts instead of one. She was one happy camper this morning. And besides, who can get mad at this goofy little girl??

camping vs real camping

since I was a kid, my family would go on camping trips every year and oh how i looked forward to them. I mean we would go in big groups, entire families, cousins, aunts, uncles, friends and all. From Big Bear to Mammoth, Yosemite, and all over southern Cali. I remember we would bring pack soon much stuff with us, blankets, pillows, sleeping bags, you know, the necessities. Then came the kitchen stuff! I mean pots and pans, chopping boards, and tons and tons of food! I mean I know we gotta eat and all, so we pretty much brought the whole house if I really think about it, HAHA! Don’t forget the lamps and flashlights. And the camp sites were clean and came with actual facilities so that we could have hot showers, you just need quarters LOL… but oh it was fun and nice to be clean before going to bed after playing all day in the dirt and sand and being sticky after sunscreen and sweat dripping all over you…. eeewwww hahaha

And then, I ended up going camping on the whim over the 4th of July weekend. I must say, we weren’t prepared at all! We just packed clothes and a couple sleeping bags and a cooler with ice. No camping reservations. I mean we didn’t know what time we were going to leave in the first place. We ended up going to the grocery store on the way to the campsite and pretty much bought what we wanted to eat and easy to cook that didn’t require much attention… We had to buy a stove, kitchen knife, and a flashlight, just the bare minimum to get by. We got to Kernville and started looking for a spot. I really didn’t think you could go camping on the fly! All this time I know my mom had to make reservations far in advance to even get a spot and everything would be all planned out. But back to camping on the fly. We finally found a spot… or so we thought. Since the site wasn’t regulated, we just asked the nearby neighbors if we could plop down next to them since it was just me and one other person. No biggie. We were so close to the river, it was great! Somehow managed to pitch a broken tent after the sun had gone down and cook dinner and eat by 10pm. Oh by the way, we forgot a lighter! =O   We had to ask our neighbors for one every time we wanted to cook. Sheesh! Who knew having a lighter or source of fire would be so important when camping? Then time for bed, okay, so where is the bathroom so I could wash up? My friend points to the river. LOL What?!? I’ve never gone camping without a bathroom facility! LOL Yes I know I’m spoiled! Just a little. =P   So since this site was first come first serve, the spot we ended up with had nothing but rocks! So we ended up sleeping on a bed rock. HAHA HA HA

The next day, we wake up, made breakfast… managed to make some coffee, is a must! What to do now? lets go for a hike and find a spot near the river to hang the hammock. Sure! Brought some water and started walking. We found a spot, hung up the hammock, and decided to take a quick nap. Woke up since the sun was hitting our faces and decided to jump in the river. That felt OH SO GOOD! considering it was pretty hot during the day. swam around and somehow managed to float near our campsite. We decided to grab some snacks and more drinks and walk back to where we left our hammock. Found a new shady spot, hung around for a bit, ate some fruit, and back to sleep we go. The sun managed to follow us to every shady spot we found, but its ok, we would just jump back in the river to cool off. We headed back to the campsite for lunch. After lunch, another nap, wake up and jump in the river again… this side of the river had a bit of a stronger current, I lost my footing and got carried away and the current slammed me into a rock! That hurt! And oh yea, my friend had to come help me or I would have floated away further down the river… hahaha I probably coulda got up and fought but after hitting a rock, my leg was hurting! At the end of the day, even though it was a short camping trip, we decided to go home and not sleep on a bed of rocks for another night!

All we did was jump in the river, eat, and sleep for a day and a half. I mean I could get used to this! Not having to worry about anything at all. My mind had never been so at peace. Also, the company with you makes a big difference. Thanks for the great weekend! Lets do that again! =D

rewind and fast forward

So I haven’t been able to write as much as I wanted to… but that’s what happens when you have a crazy schedule and a crazy big family… it’s ok I love em and it makes life fun

Rewind

One, Two, Punch of a weekend – two weeks ago – first it was my grandma’s 84th birthday party. Had fun making pom poms from scratch… luckily my cats and dog didn’t tear them apart. We have 4 generations going right now and she is the rock of the family. The following day was my god daughter’s 3rd birthday party! Birthday party at the park. Perfect day, no rain, another day of eating such good food! An11951493_10209283178582216_2110444296085262773_od to top it all off, the third day was my god daughter’s actual birthday so we went to DISNEYLAND!!! It was crowded for a Monday but there were several events going on. There were radio stations from all over the place broadcasting live. But regardless, we had fun! And And And, do you remember the “Electrical Parade” waaaay back when? and they took it out… but but but… now they have what’s called “Paint the Night”Parade. They brought it baaaaacccckkk!!! THE ELECTRICAL PARADE IS BAAAACCCKKKK!!!! OMG OMG OMG!!! yes I have turned into a little girl (squeal)… but but but the memories!!!

I took soooo many pictures in one weekend I ended up getting a good workout on my arms. 😛

Fast Forward

So went back to work on Tuesday… and I ended up getting food poisoning Wednesday night. Okay. So I’ve gotten food poisoning before but I’ve never had it this bad… Severe stomach pains, I couldn’t even stand up straight. Violent vomiting… Fever and chills and everything else associated with food poisoning. Was still really sick for the next couple of days… coworkers said I looked pale, couldn’t function at all… Had to go home both days (Thursday and Friday). Mochi was a trooper and was kind enough to keep me warm and slept next to me. I Finally started feeling better (or so I thought) on Saturday so I decided to be girly and get my nails done and minor shopping… a nice treat after being sick for 5 days. Sunday comes around and I’m doing my normal sound tech stuff at church and one time I ran into, or at least tried to get into the sound booth in a hurry, I tripped and tweaked my ankle… HAHA nice way to top off this sickly week right?!?! That’s a clumsy girl for ya!

And now back to 100% normal I think considering I had a poke bowl for dinner.

dilemma with fruits

i love fruits! who doesn’t? they’re yummy and healthy… so spring is around the corner orangeand some fruits are coming into season. so i buy the fruits with plans of eating them of course but… call me spoiled or lazy or both even… if i have to peel them or cut them down to size or whatever, I’m more likely to forget about it and let it sit in the fridge…

Last week, my boss gave my mom and i some fruits from her orange grove up north… delicious i tell you… I cut up two and ate it for dinner one night and the rest stayed in the fridge, for the time being until i felt like cutting or peeling them. I finally decided to prep them so i could just go in the fridge and pick at it as a snack… but back to forgetting… come on! they’re already cut, I just have to eat em… i brought it to work and ate about i’m guessing two and half oranges… and the result… is my tower of orange peels :

i hate peas!!!

okay so I realize I am a picky eater… but isn’t everyone… Got lunch yesterday from Corner Bakery and got the Chicken Carbonara pasta. Yay! excited for lunch… open it up and peas everywhere!!! it’s okay i’ll just sift through them and push them aside… nope that’s not working… I’ll pick them out as I eat… I do this with fried rice too… but I’m a little more nuts when it comes to fried rice… I’ll sit there and pick out each and every single pea out of pile of rice on my plate before I eat it!
