I feel so outdated. The technology world has left me in the dust. Unfortunately my line of work isn’t exactly in the technology realm. I have an office job and one of my duties is minor IT work. I mean I only install printer software and do minor network fixes but that’s it, after that, I have to call the real IT guys and have them do the work. I have been away from the technology world for so long that I don’t know what’s new or what’s the latest and greatest anymore.

It was over ten years ago when I was actually an Apple desktop certified technician for two years. I miss those days. Now I sit at a desk all day long dealing with numbers, rent checks and property management stuff. Don’t get me wrong, I love my job. I just wish I still kept up with the technology at the same time.

The funny thing is that my company runs on old technology. You know the heavy monitors with the green DOS screen. No mouse, just keyboard commands. We use green-bar perforated continuous paper. I mean old school technology. RPG2 programming. That I can do.

So instead of going forward with technology, I went backwards. HA! That’s funny, now that I think about it. So I guess it’s not so bad after all. I am still involved in some type of technology, new or old. I guess that’s good enough for now.
